"Will all passengers for flight VG7459 to Las Vegas please make their way to boarding gate 20." came the voice on the tannoy. I slowly opened my eyes and pulled myself up. How I had managed to get to sleep in Gatwick's busy North Terminal, I'll never know. The person I had been resting my head on, stayed fast asleep.
"Matt, wake up," I shouted, hitting his leg. No response. "Matt, Come on, that was our flight," I hollered in his ear.
"Is he not waking up?" asked James, from the other side of the departure lounge chairs.
"Is he fuck. He wouldn't wake up if the fire alarms went off," I sighed, picking up my bag and sliding it on my shoulder. James gave me a devious grin and walked over to where I was standing.
"MATT!" he shouted, sitting violently on his stomach. Matt's eyes shot open and he let out a cry of pain. James laughed and jumped up.
"What the hell was that for?" he asked rubbing his chest.
"We have to go, they just called our flight," I told him, holding out my hand, which he took to pull himself up.
"Where's Charlie?" asked Kim, looking around the departures lounge.
"I'm here," he called, walking over to us, stuffing his face with McDonalds chips. He smiled as some little girl of about 4 ran over to him and asked him for his autograph. Charlie signed the piece of paper, kissed her cheek, gave her a wink and straightened up as she ran off back to her mum. He picked up his backpack that had been randomly thrown on a chair and pulled it on his back. "Right, so what are we waiting for?" he asked as we all stood watching him.
"You," said Debz simply. I shook my head in amusement and followed the group down to the gate. As we got on the plane, I put my bag in the overhead compartment and fell down in the seat next to Matt. He smiled at me, put his arm around my waist and rested his head peacefully on my shoulder.
"Charlie, you asswipe, you're taking up both of the bloody seats," came Debz's voice from behind.
"Sorry, I can't help it. There's plenty of room, just sit down and stop moaning at me." came Charlie's irate reply.
"Guys, are you going to do that for the whole 10 hour flight?" asked James, poking his head over the seat infront of us.
"It's not me," came the reply, pratically at exactly the same time.
"I don't care who the fuck it is, it's bloody annoying," Kim shouted, poking her head up next to James'. Me and Matt giggled at the commotion going on over our heads. James sighed.
"Look, Debz, just come and sit here, I'll sit next to Charlie," he offered standing up.
"But what about you and Kim?" she replied. He shrugged.
"I'll get time with her later," he smiled, kissing her as he climbed over her. Debz smiled gratefully as her and James passed each other. Charlie put his hand on his chin and stared out the window. Bless him. A guy with a serious crush. A crush that was so obvious, everyone knew about it except for his crush. Charlie had fancied Debz for a couple of months now but had never found the right moment to tell her. He swore that he would tell her while we were away, but I severely doubted it. I don't think Debz hated him, she just got annoyed by his clumsiness. James and Kim had planned this holiday so they could get married. The attention James was getting in the UK made it impossible for them to have a simple quiet wedding. In their eyes, this was the only way they could get married without too much media coverage. It didn't bother them that they were going to do it in some Las Vegas chapel. The fact they were going to be together was all that mattered to them, something which I found sweet. Then there was me and Matt. Matt was my closest friend in the whole world and was someone that I really admired. He'd worked so hard to get where he was today and I was really proud of him. When he bought himself a flat, he invited me to live with him. An offer that I took him up on straight away. When I first moved in, the press has speculated over whether I was his girlfriend or not. It was infact these speculations that led to him making the biggest and most important confession of his life. His sexuality was something he had confided in me about at about the age of 16. Luckily we were just leaving school and moving on to college. There, people were much more mature and didn't care who you had a relationship with. When he confessed that he was gay to his fans he was really scared and worried. I saw him the most scared I'd ever seen him. I loved Matt and I knew that If anything ever happened to him, I'd be completely lost.
"Oh, my god, that guy over there is really fit," I commented as some random bloke walked out of the toilets.
"Which one?" asked Matt sitting up. He'd always been protective over who I chose as a boyfriend but I suppose I was the same.
"That guy over there," I replied, pointing discretely at the man.
"Emma, he's rough, you can't seriously fancy him,"
"Fancy who?" asked Debz, poking her head over theseat infront.
"That guy," said Matt pointing in the direction of the man.
"He's really cute," she replied. I looked at Matt and smiled.
"See, there you go, I'm not completely blind," I smirked. "So who would you go for out of all the people on this flight?" I asked.
"Well I can't see everyone on the flight can I doofus,"
"I know that, but which one out of the people you can see?" Matt looked around and slumped back down in his chair.
"He's alright I suppose," he nodded in the direction of the air steward who was walking past.
"Do you think he's gay?" Matt shrugged.
"If he was, I'd go out with him," he whispered.
"I could always ask him for you," I smiled.
"Don't you dare, I'll look like a right idiot," he snarled, slumping even further down in his seat.
"Alright, keep your tits on, stressy!" I laughed.
As we stood waiting for the bags to come off the plane, I noticed Matt talking to a guy of about our age. I smiled and pulled my suitcase off the conveyer belt.
"I think Matt's pulled," I sighed, sitting down on top of it. Charlie smiled at me.
"I wish I could. Everything just goes wrong for me. All the girls I like think I'm a right prick." he grabbed his suitcase and put it next to mine.
"Let me guess, Debz?" I asked as he looked down sadly. He nodded. "You have to tell her Charlie, otherwise she'll find someone else and you'll just be left behind."
"I know, it's just difficult. I make out that I hate her and she tells me that she hates me. What sort of couple would we make?"
"Well there's only one way to find out. It's up to you," I stood up as James and Kim walked over hand in hand.
"We're ready, you coming?" she asked, getting dragged along by James. I pulled the handle up on my suitcase and followed behind, grabbing Matt as I passed him.
"Who was that?" I asked as he fell into step beside me.
"He was just a guy,"
"Name?"
"Dominic, and before you ask, he's taken" I shook my head and led him over to the car hire place.
"We need two of you to be drivers," said James as we approached.
"I'll do it," said Charlie almost immediatley. When I realised that no one else could drive yet, I reluctantly agreed as well.
"This car is so nice," said Matt as he checked all of the compartments in the front area of the car.
"Emma? What's up with Charlie, he seemed really off with me earlier." asked Debz from the back seat. Matt stopped searching and looked at me in shock. I quickly searched for a reason.
"Uh, he said he felt a bit ill, he's probably just a bit grouchy," I replied, keeping my eyes on the road. She nodded, luckily convinced. Matt smirked at me and pulled a map out of the side pockets.
"Em, Why is South America in the North?" he asked, confused.
"Matt turn the map the right way up," he smiled, knowing full well he had it up the worng way. As we drove into the main part of Las Vegas, Matt stared in awe at all of the casinos.
"Which hotel is ours?" he asked, opening the sunroof.
"I dunno, I'm just following Charlie and Matt, don't stick your head out of there, please?"
"Why not?" he replied, unclipping his seatbelt and standing up on his chair. I saw James and Kim laughing through the back window of the car infront.
"Matt, we're gonna get arrested," I shouted, tugging on his trouser leg. He sighed and sat back down.
"You're no fun," he moaned.
"No, I just don't want to spend my holiday in a cell," Charlie turned off into a massive hotel and I followed. "Holy fuck," I gasped as I saw it, "This place is massive,"
"You're telling me," grinned Matt as I parked the car. He climbed out started jumping about like a little kid. I climbed out of the car and opened the boot, pulling my suitcase out.
"Matt, you can take your bag," I shouted. He nodded and ran over.
"God, I'm really excited," he smiled as he pulled his case out and walked off behind the others. I smiled at his happiness, shut the boot, locked the car and followed as well.
"Right, you have the honeymoon suite and two twin rooms," said the receptionist as I dropped my bags in the lobby.
"James, you never told me you booked the honeymoon suite!" gasped Kim. James blushed.
"I know, I wanted it to be a surprise,"
"Matt, wake up," I shouted, hitting his leg. No response. "Matt, Come on, that was our flight," I hollered in his ear.
"Is he not waking up?" asked James, from the other side of the departure lounge chairs.
"Is he fuck. He wouldn't wake up if the fire alarms went off," I sighed, picking up my bag and sliding it on my shoulder. James gave me a devious grin and walked over to where I was standing.
