It's not finished..
Chapter 1
‘Ugh,’ Matt thought to himself. ‘Why am I such an idiot sometimes?’
He had just come home from town, where the events that took place had been humiliating, to say the least. He went over to the kettle to make himself a cup of tea, and recalled the events of that afternoon.
It all started when he texted Carrie, the girl he had been dating for a couple of weeks, earlier in the morning to tell her he no longer wanted to be with her. Admittedly, it had been a stupid way to end it, but then there were those rumours…
‘Damn rumours!’ Matt yelled suddenly as he grabbed a mug from the cupboard and poured his tea. ‘Why the hell did I believe them?!’ He knew why. Carrie had been acting a bit… dodgy lately, so when he was told by his mate that she was cheating on him, it kind of all added up.
However, he was now having regrets. Supposing it was a load of shit about her and that guy? Then he really would feel mean about what he did.
So maybe he DID deserve what he got. He had just walked out of HMV, when… SMACK! Right in the nuts. OK, he maybe didn’t quite deserve that one - hey, he did want a family when he was older! Painful memories that Matt wished to forget quickly. That followed by a ‘FUCK YOU, YOU SELFISH DICKWAD! IF YOU DIDN’T LIKE ME, WHY DIDN’T YOU JUST TELL ME TO MY FACE?!?’
Matt winced. He realised now that what she had said was true - at the time, he had still been recovering from the nut attack. But yes, he knew that he should have told her to her face. In fact, he should have found out first if those rumours were true before dumping her like that. I would have probably saved a lot of embarrassment for them both - obviously all the yelling was attracting a bit of a crowd, so along with being attacked (verbally and physically), he was also deeply humiliated.
‘I’m sorry hun…’ he had started.
‘DON’T GIVE ME THE SORRY SHIT! I KNEW ALL ALONG YOU WEREN’T WORTH IT!’ And with that, she had stormed off across the road, while Matt, and everyone else for that matter, watched her set off angrily.
Matt sighed, and took a sip of his tea. Oh well, it was all over now, and he’d probably hardly ever see the girl again. How wrong he was..
Chapter 2
The next day, Matt didn’t do much. For most of the day, he just watched TV, flicking through the music channels, trying to find some bands he liked.
Music was the answer to everything, in his opinion. His thoughts kept returning to the case of Carrie, and he realised that he actually missed her in a way. From a different point of view, he was glad to get her out of his hair - it would do him good to be single for a while.
He heard something being put through the letterbox, so he put down the remote control and went to the door to pick a single envelope up. It had no address, just ‘MATT’ scrawled on the front. Before he opened it, he knew who it was from. He slowly opened it and took out the letter.
I really liked you, and I thought we had something, but NO as it usually is with boys, you turned into a complete prick. Why the fuck did you dump me by TEXT? That is so lame, I fucking hate your stupid guts. If you ever talk to me again, my brother is perfectly willing to give you what you deserve.
Matt sighed. Well that was the end of her. Why had she posted him a letter though? And she called HIM lame.
