When I woke up the next morning, I rang Josh to tell him that I was at my cousins so he could pick me up from there. As I was speaking to him, my phone beeped to show I had a text message. After I'd hung up, I eagerly went into my inbox to see who the text was from. Matt's name came up. I went into the message and read what he had to say. - 2nite at mine, can u wait outside Harrods @ 8. I'll get a car 2 pick u up. Luv matt - I quickly replied to tell him that would be okay and jumped as the doorbell rang. I answered it and Josh was smiling at me.
"Come on missy, Lets go. You have a roadshow to do!" he grinned. I smiled back at him, grabbed my stuff and followed him out to the people carrier. I climbed in and the other guys from my band were already in there.
"Hey," they grinned as I climbed in. I grinned back at them and took my seat next to Dan.
"So you and lover boy had a tiff?" Kieran asked. Dan rolled his eyes and tutted, causing us to look at him.
"That was really tactful mate, at least say, are you alright, before you jump in." he said sarcastically. I just smiled and shook my head slightly.
"It's okay Dan. We had a row but it'll all settle soon. It's pathetic really. Plus we were both a bit tipsy." The boys nodded, understanding, and we carried on the journey laughing and joking as we always did. When we arrived at the place the roadshow was being held, I climbed out of the people carrier and waited for the boys to sort themselves out. When they eventually had, we walked over and found my dressing room. Lucy was sitting at the make up table and Josie was standing ready with some clothes. I greeted both of them and sat down so Lucy could set to work applying foundation powder. Me and the boys went over the setlist quickly, whilst Josie picked out some stuff for me to wear.
"Jose," I called out, whilst Lucy tried to apply some eyeliner.
"Uh huh," she replied, turning towards me.
"Can I have that skirt," I asked, pointed to a short khaki one with a chain on one side and badges down the other. She nodded and picked it out, throwing it over the back of the chair. "Then that Blink t-shirt," I pointed to the black top bearing the pink and green album logo.
"The baggy one or the girly one?" Josie asked, holding two up.
"Not the baggy one, that won't go," I told her, shutting my eyes as Lucy put black and silver eyeshadow on my eyelid.
"What do you want to wear on your feet?"
"A pair of DC's," I told her, flickering my eyes open and adjusting them to the light. She threw the other clothes at me and I quickly got changed. Josh knocked on the trailer door and Josie flung it open.
"Emma, there are some kids over there asking after you, they want autographs and photos, you think you can manage that?" he asked, out of breath. Obviously they'd been nagging him. I nodded.
"Course I can. I'll come now." I quickly tied my hair back in a high pony tail and then put on a pair of sunglasses. Josh led me across the backstage area to where some girls and a couple of boys were waiting. When they saw me they started screaming and waving pieces of paper and cameras at me. I smiled. Although it could sometimes get annoying, I loved meeting the people who bought my albums.
"Emma, can I have your autograph?" a little girl of about 5 asked, offering me her pink autograph book. I smiled down at her.
"Of course you can sweetheart," I said, taking her autograph book and pen and quickly scribbling down my name. I handed the book back to her and she smiled.
"Can my mummy take a photo of me and you,"
"Yeah," I smiled. An older woman sort of pushed forward and smiled as I crouched down next to her daughter.
"Thank you," she said to me as she took her daughter away. I always got worried about the little ones. Sometimes the older children didn't notice them. Next was a boy who was probably the same sort of age as me. I took the album booklet he was holding out to me and again scribbled my name down.
"Can I have a kiss?" he asked with a cheeky grin. I looked at him. He wasn't that bad looking so I nodded and pecked him on the cheek as his mate took a photograph. Slowly, I worked my way through the crowd of people and until I noticed another people carrier pull up and three familiar faces climb out. When the last autograph was signed and the final photo was taken, I walked back over to my trailer with Josh.
"You go on, I'll be a couple of minutes," I told him, walking off on my own. I walked over to the Busted trailer and knocked on the door. The door flung open and James was facing me.
"Hey, come in," he smiled, pulling me up the steps. I walked in the main part where Charlie was having make up applied and Matt was sifting through clothes. Matt saw me and grinned devilishly.
"Hey, Em," Charlie called out, trying to stand up but getting pushed back down by his make up artist. Matt walked over and hugged me.
"Now your here you can hitch a lift with me tonight," he whispered. I nodded and then smiled normally as he pulled away.
"Did you get home okay?" James asked, sitting down on a small sofa. I nodded.
"Yes thanks. I had a great time," I told them, standing next to Matt.
"We sould all meet up again soon," Charlie suggested. Matt caught my eye and I nodded.
"That would be cool. Anyways, I better get back, Josh doesn't know where I am." I told them, opening the door.
"See ya," they all called as I slammed the door behind me. The door burst open again and Matt jumped out.
"Meet me at the back entrance at about 5. I'll sort a car out." He told me quietly. I nodded, accepted his kiss on my cheek and walked away.

At 5:15, I was still waiting at the back entrance. I'd fobbed Josh off with a story about getting picked up my a mate and had left him and everyone else to pack all the stuff away. I saw a figure jogging towards me and smiled when I saw it was Matt.
"I'm so sorry I'm late," he panted. "I got held up by fans," he explained. I smiled and shook my head.
"It doesn't matter, don't worry about it." I reassured him. He smiled, took my hand and led me down the road for a little bit. We came to a huge 4x4 and he pulled me in. The guy in the driving seat turned around and smiled half heartedly at me. "Charlie!" I gasped.
"I just want to let you both know, that by giving you a lift, I'm not supporting you having an affair. However, you're both my friends and that's the only reason I'm helping you out," he explained as he pulled away from the curb. The word affair hit me. Matt had obviously been telling them what had been happening. If James and Charlie knew, pretty soon it would spread. I doubted they'd keep it from their friends and families. I just sat back and noticed that Matt was still clutching my hand. His thumb was rubbing the area between my thumb and forefinger gently. I thought about the word affair again. It wasnt really an affair. It was just us meeting up alone. Plus we'd kissed but that was beyond the point. We'd had so much between us and we had so much to catch up on. What's to say Matt hadn't been telling them an exaggerated version of events. I put the thoughts to the back of my mind as we pulled up outside a block of flats. I climbed out and Matt followed.
"Cheers mate," Matt said as he jumped out. Charlie nodded and drove off. Matt smiled at me and led me into the lobby area of the flats. He called a lift and we stood and waited, not really knowing what to say. The lift pinged and the doors opened. Matt stood back and let me get in first. He followed close behind and pressed the button to the top floor. He turned to me.
"How much have you told James and Charlie?" I asked, as he placed his hands on the rail behind him and leaned backwards. He shrugged.
"Not that much. I said we had put our problems to rest and were meeting up alone to see if we could be friends."
"And is that the real plan?" I asked. He shrugged again.
"Dunno, If all you want to be is friends then I suppose I can accept that."
"What, so you do want more?"
"I want as much as you want,"
"How come Charlie referred to this as 'an affair'?," I asked him. He sighed.
"I told them we kissed okay, that was all, they're not exactly gonna tell Ashley, they don't know him."
"Yeah, but they might tell their friends who'll pass it on, it'll get round to Ashley some how." I moaned. Matt stood upright and took my face in his hands.
"Just stop worrying okay. The press don't even know we used to be an item, they don't even know that you were in Busted. If that hasn't got out, this won't either." I nodded, knowing he was right. Slowly, I planted a kiss on his lips, causing him to smile. "We're gonna be fine, now kiss me again." I smiled and planted another kiss on his lips. The doors pinged again and parted slowly. We walked out of the lift and I looked around. There were two doors and straight infront was a big window going from floor to ceiling and wall to wall. Matt opened the door on the irght and let me in.

"Sorry about the mess," he said, holding the door for me. I smiled.
"It can't be any worse than my place." I giggled. Matt walked through the door himself and then shut it firmly behind him. He kicked his trainers off, as did I, then hung his coat on a hook. I unhooked my bag from my shoulder and dropped it down on the floor. As Matt placed his keys down on the sideboard, I made my way into the lounge. The room was a very light brown colour, almost cream. There was a big furry white mat on the floor, stood on top of that, a low glass coffee table. There was a big, soft, brown sofa that fitted into the corner of the room. A flat, widescreen TV was mounted on the wall opposite. There was a breakfast bar and kitchen area also in the room. A wooden dining table stood next to two glass doors, leading out to the balcony. Matt walked in and stood behind me. He snaked his arms slowly around my waist and planted a kiss on my neck. I smiled but still wriggled out of his grip.
"What's up?" he asked, folding his arms.
"Nothing," I replied quickly. He gave me a look to show he didn't believe me. "Look, can't we just take this slowly? I'm still not entirely sure about this whole thing," I explained. Matt nodded and fell down on the sofa. I sat next to him.
"So you and Ashley............. You're pretty serious are you?" Matt asked, picking at the edge of the sofa. I nodded.
"He's really special. We're really happy together," I told him, although after our last argument, I wasn't really sure where we stood.
"Is he as special a me?"
"Matt, that's unfair," I protested.
"Why?" he asked. "It's an easy yes or no answer." I sighed.
"When we were going out, you were really special to me. In a way you still are. You were my first proper boyfriend." I started, making Matt's eyes light up. "But, Ashley is more special to me at this moment in time. He's stood by me and we've been through so much together." Matt's smile faded slightly.
"Do you think we could ever go back to being how we used to be?" I shrugged.
"It depends totally on how things between me and Ashley are." Matt looked at me.
"You're hiding something," he said suddenly. I lookedh im in the eye.
"What do you mean?" I asked him, now looking down at my hands and fiddling with my bracelet.
"Come on, I've known you for too long. Don't think you can pull the wool over my eyes. I can tell by your eyes and your body language that there's something up. If you tell me what it is, I might be able to help." He sat up. "We always used to be able to tell each other everything," he whispered. I looked up at him again and closed my eyes, contemplating on whether to tell him. I put my hand to the side of my face and opened my eyes again.
"Me and Ashley had a row last night. I haven't been back home since." I confessed. Matt nodded.
"What did you argue about?"
"He's going away to DJ at a mates club for two months."
"Two months! Where? Can't you go and see him regularly?" Matt asked. I shook my head.
"The club is in Falaraki, you know, Slut Central." Matt smiled.
"Surely he won't play away, he knows you'll find out somehow." I shrugged.
"He doesn't know that I've been meeting up with you does he. We're in the same country. When he's far away with loads of pissed, horny girls, how the hell am I gonna find out what he's up to?" I asked. Matt bit his lip. I could see he'd realised that, with Ashley out of the picture for two months, he now had the prime opportunity to make a move on me.

The next morning, I woke up, on my sofa, back home. It worried me slightly that I couldn't remember certain events of the previous night, but I was pretty sure that I'd stayed faithful to Ashley. Obviously not including kissing. I heard someone whistling and Ashley walked into the lounge. I smiled weakly at him. He stopped, smiled back and sat next to me.
"Emma, I'm so sorry about the other night," he told me, pulling me into a big hug. I shook my head.
"It's okay, I totally over reacted," I told him. "Go, It's not fair for me to stand in the way of your career." he smiled at me gratefully.
"Do you really mean that?" he asked. I nodded.
"Just don't do anything to make me change my mind." Ashley grinned and kissed me softly on my nose.
"I love you," I whispered. He stood up and smiled.
"I love you too." He walked into the kitchen and boiled the kettle. "So where have you been staying? he asked, pulling two mugs out of the cupboard. I thought quickly.
"My, er, my cousin," I told him, remembering that it wasn't a lie. Entirely. "Then I went to the concert yesterday, went to a friends, then decided to come back here." Ashley smiled and handed me a mug of coffee. He sat next to me and pulled me close to him.
"When are you next getting picked up for work?" he asked, flicking the TV on. I looked at my watch and smiled.
"It's Monday, I'm not going to work." Ashley grinned, and kissed me. As he pulled away, my phone vibrated in my back pocket. Ashley stood up and left the room. I looked at the display. 'Matt Mob' flashed on the screen. I pressed the accept call button slowly.
"Hi babes," Matt, said cheerily.
"Hi," I whispered back.
"Look, I know this is probably a bad time for you but can you come round later tonight? Last night was great and all but it didn't really go anywhere. I want us to actually start something,"
"Yeah, I know what you mean but I can't do tonight, Ashley is at home." I told him. Ashley walked in the room, oblivious to the previous bit of conversation. "Uh, I've told you mum, you have to stop worrying about me. I can look after myself." I said quickly.
"Mum? Emma what the fuck?" Matt asked quickly.
"Ashley's fine, he's just walked in the room now," I said, hoping Matt would catch on. I heard him laugh on the other end of the phone.
"Okay, so I guess now's not a good time. Call me okay?" he said quickly.
"Okay then, will do," I said, relaxing slightly.
"Bye," Matt whispered, hanging up. I heaved a sigh of relief and pressed the end call button.
