..slag Charlie off on here. I have noticed numerous remarks on other Busted sites due to this split malarkey, particularly with the Kerrang thing.
Kerrang hate Busted, the readers hate Busted. The fact that they're even giving Charlie a chance is amazing, but I think that it's inevitable that some fans are looking at him in a different light now (for better and worse). After being a fan of Busted for two and a half years, I cannot imagine him saying any of those things (like making out that he only joined Busted because there was nothing better to do etc) but it is clear that he prefers Fightstar to Busted.
Something that many people are missing is the fact that he said 'IF' the situation arises that he must choose between the two bands. This means that he has not had to make a decision yet.
While it is likely that Kerrang twisted his words, I'm not saying Charlie didn't say anything true to the interview, I just think we should take it with a pinch of salt. The way I see it, since Busted were voted worst band, now that Kerrang are doing a two page feature solely on Charlie shows outright cheek. If they want to keep their readers respecting them for that, they've got to make it sound like Charlie's actually not "that c**t who loves being in that shitty pop band" but a true rocker who secretly hates his, as they might put it, day job.
At the end of the day, the teenies are going to buy that issue just for Charlie, and BAM! more money for Kerrang. I think that's the reason they've done it.
Anyway, I'm rambling a bit here, aren't I?
The main point is, Charlie himself I believe, spoke out on the radio, claiming that he's definitely not leaving Busted, but he might consider it in the DISTANT future. Of course, no one knows how distant that really is, but I say enjoy Busted while we can, they're going to storm the charts later this year with a new album and single and I for one cannot bloody wait. And if people keep promoting in America, the only way for Busted is up.
