Hey people, here's my pretty lame fan fiction I wrote last year... Please tell me if you think it's crap and I'll stop (hehe) James slammed down the receiver and crossed off another name from his list. A lock of blonde hair fell in his blue eyes and he pushed it back irritably. "No luck?" Charlie asked, continuing to strum on his guitar. "I give up." James crumpled up the list with a scowl, just as Matt wondered in. The easy going lad raised an eyebrow inquiringly at James' dark face. "What's up mateage?" James rolled his eyes with a snort, and stormed into the kitchen. Mattie stared after him puzzled and turned back to Charlie for an explanation. The tall, model-like lad looked half amused, half annoyed. "Remember how Jo broke his arm? We're still looking for a guitarist to fill in for tomorrow night's gig. JB has been calling everyone; and it's just not working." "Hey, all we need to do is spiff you up a tad, and we got ourselves some eye candy to feed the crowd," Matt suggested, eyeing his bandmate. Charlie just rolled his eyes and was about to make a rude retort when the doorbell rang suddenly. Both boys cast apprehensive looks at each other and Matt rose to answer it. "Better not be that stalker chick," he muttered worriedly. Instead, he was greeted with an extremely good looking young man. "Good news," the lad said shortly, before pushing into the apartment and surveying the ruin. Clothes were lying sloppily in piles large enough to bury a crowd; empty food wrappers lay strewn across the floor and guitar parts and drum kits were stacked across the barely visible floor. Josh sighed. He was an extremely handsome Irish lad, who went from modelling to managing Busted after becoming close friends with James. The boys constantly teased him about how he "managed to pull more chicks than the three of us combined," and as a result, he was nicknamed 'Casanova'. "I've got some good news," Josh announced when the three boys had managed to clear a small space and gathered around him. "I've found the perfect guitarist for you rowdy lot." The boys exchanged sly looks. The last fill-in guitarist Josh had found for the band had been less than incompetent. He saw their faces and grimaced slightly. "I found one that could probably play better than you three." This was greeted with a stony silence. "Ok, at least as good as you three," he hastily amended. Silence again. Then all three Busted lads burst out laughing. "Ok, Ok!" Matt said. "We'll give 'im a go." "It's only a one off anyway for our last show this season; we can go searching for a new one after our break," Charlie added. "But he'd better be good," James added grimly under his breath. Josh leaped up. "Excellent. Then I'll hook you guys up with her tonight so you can practice before tomorrow night." He had reached the door before he realised that a thick silence had enveloped the apartment. "Her?" "She?" "Chick?" That last one was from Matt, and was almost instantly followed by a "Is she fit?" Josh gave Mattie a dirty look and with a patient sigh, turned back to the other two. "Look she's really good, and I know you don't like the thought-" "Gee, whatever gave you that idea?" James' voice was flat. "It's out of the question," Charlie started strumming again with an air of finality. "C'mon guys, just meet her. She's incredible- and yes, fit. I bet she could give you all a run for your money-" James interrupted Josh's reasoning with his own. "We won't get any money if we have a chick guitarist. You know the fans hate seeing us even near any other girls. Having a girl on the band would drive them crazy. Plus," he cast an arrogant little smile and a knowing look at the other two, "Everyone knows girls can't play guitar decently." Charlie nodded in agreement. "Well I'm ok with it." Matt grinned. "If she's fit, maybe we can all have a snog." The other two threw him a look of mild disgust. Josh watched the three of them with growing anger. They weren't even taking this seriously. If they didn't perform well tomorrow night, they'd need to make it up to their fans, considering it was the last performance for a month or so. James saw his frustration and shook his head sympathetically. "Don't worry, we'll cope. Worse come to worse, Charlie can take off his clothes and do a dance." The other two cacked up at this, but Josh just stomped out of the building. "Well?" Matt asked, raising an eyebrow at the others. James shook his head firmly. "Fit or not, we are not having a chick on the band and that's final."

hehe thanks here's the next bit...i feel kinda alone on this board haha CHAPTER 2 Totally rocked would be the understatement of all time. Busted dominated the stage, with the band pelting out their talent at full blast and the audience going more than a little crazy. The usual assortment of female lingerie flew onto the stage at the lads; one garment hitting James full in the face. The other two thought this was hysterical and tried to insist that James kindly return the gift by taking off his own boxers and donating them to the young lady who had so obligingly given up hers. James put on a cheeky smile and began to pretend to take them off, much to the excitement of the crowd. However he stopped just as it began to get....interesting. As a result, Charlie and Mattie threw him into the audience for fun. It was one of their best shows ever. Not far away, things weren't going as well for Sarah Greenwood. She had flown to London from Australia for a break, and to get away from a possessive ex. Finding out about local guitarist selections had made her trip more interesting, and she thought she'd have a go just for the fun of it. The advertisement had just mentioned playing at a concert for a well known British band for a night. Only when she rocked up to auditions was she told that she was trying out for a fill in position as a guitarist for Busted, one of her favourite bands. Still, she didn't think she did too badly despite a few nerves. Sarah had won the "Australian young guitarist of the year" award and she knew she could outplay basically most of the people she met at the auditions. But she was still a little surprised when the spunky manager pulled her over at the end of her performance. "I'm Josh," he smiled, holding out his hand. With her baggy green cargos and black t-shirt, Josh couldn't help noticing how good Sarah looked, despite her casual style. His eyes skimmed over her quickly and when he looked back at her green eyes, Josh winced. She had noticed his travelling gaze, and was clearly sizing him up. "Sarah." Her voice was clear and had a hard edge to it. She didn't shake his hand. Josh shifted slightly, embarrassed. "I gotta say, you pretty much knocked our block off just then. We've never seen anyone play as well, except for maybe the lads and other pros...Especially cos you're a-" His voice cut off abruptly, again aware that he'd just made a mistake. Sarah's eyes flashed dangerously. She'd almost been mesmerised by his soft Irish accent, but the last comment had snapped her back to reality. "What? Girls can't play guitar?" Her voice was a direct challenge and her distasteful look cut Josh up. "Ahh no-o-o. I just meant, it's uh rare to see girls around," he finished lamely. He couldn't take his eyes off her and he h8ted it. 'I'm making a fool of myself,' he thought grimly. Gritting his teeth together he figured he may as well finish up the conversation quickly. "Well I just wanted to say that you're the most likely candidate to play, so it'd be great if you're interested." Her mocking look caught his breath. "What? You want me, even though I'm a little girl?" She looked up at him through her lashes, and put on her fake cutesy voice. Sarah figured she needed to put him in his place with some of her infamous sarcasm. But Josh almost choked at her words. Wanted her? He blushed instantly, something he hadn't done in years. Sarah caught on though, and stared in amazed disgust. "If you want me to play guitar," she emphasised the last three words, "call me." Her voice was cold as she turned away. Josh just stared helplessly after her. He didn't hear her sigh, and he didn't hear her mutter "men- they're all the same." That was yesterday morning. Then she had received a message from Josh saying that the band didn't need an extra guitarist. 'So much for thinking I rocked,' she though miserably. The little voice at the back of her mind wondered what would have happened if she had played along with Josh and flirted a bit. He was the manager after all, and would have all the say. But this just made her shrug irritably, because she knew she wasn't that type of girl and never could be. Suddenly weary, she decided that she'd skip the Busted concert that night; go get dressed up, and get trashed instead. 'Or at least as much as a 17 year old can get trashed," she reminded herself. Which was basically nothing.

hehe thanks for the nice messages! yeh, I'd love to read your ficcy! oh and here's the next bit for mine, sorry it's boring...
The Blue Bar was a new, funky, bar in the heart of London's trendy areas. Although only opened 4 months ago, its reputation had spread throughout Europe as one of the most popular clubs to have a drink, dance, and simply hang out. The music was always kicking, and megastars were reputed to go there all the time. Busted in particular were constantly seen at the Blue Bar, as the band was very close with the young owner, Danny. Sarah didn't really know her way well around London at all. One of her friends Jenny had advised her that the Blue Bar was the best around and that if she did nothing else in England, to go visit it. So feeling rather grumpy, she managed to take a taxi to the entrance of the bar. The queue travelled all the way down the alley. Sarah just stared at it and groaned. Trust Jenny to pick the most popular bar. The beat of the music could be heard very faintly, and people in nice clothes stood shuffling in the line, while a pair of bouncers stood guard at the door. It would take her an hour and a half to get in there at least. She was about to turn and leave when a hand grabbed her around the waist. She spun and almost aimed an uppercut at the guy in front of her. Tall, and with a sleazy smirk, she recognised the man to be David, from one of Britain's top bands, Genesis. In the back of her mind, she remembered that Busted and Genesis were the two biggest band enemies and that many fights had erupted between the members. "How ya doing fine thing?" The man grinned at her and she simply stared with her mouth wide open. No guy in Australia would dare grab her around the waist and try hitting on her like that. He smirked at her shock. "Wanna get in there?" He cocked his head at the door. Sarah frowned, uncertain. He leaned closer. She smelt alcohol and recoiled. "I can get you in if..." He started to whisper some suggestions in her ear, but didn't get far, because she launched a hard kick at his...sensitive area. He leapt back in surprise and then his expression grew nasty. "You little..." He cursed her and tried a half tackle. She danced back out of his reach, with her fists up and adrenaline pumping. With a grim smile, she thought about how taking her anger out on this disgusting sleaze would probably make her feel better. Then the bouncers grabbed him, and a hand gripped her shoulder gently. She whirled around, slapping it away and bringing her fists around to face the new threat. A tall, curly haired lad held his hands up with a barely suppressed smile. She felt a surge of annoyance at his cockiness and was about to- "You've got a great swing there." His eyes flicked over her appreciatively and Sarah let out a growl. 'I have so had enough of guys doing that,' she thought, as she began to storm out of the street. David's yells of hatred followed her down the street. "Hey, wait up!" The lad ran after her and touched her elbow. She spun around again with a dangerous look on her face. "Leave. Me. Alone." He cocked his head. "Look, I can get you into the Blue Bar. Actually, I can get fiiinnne lookin' lasses like yourself free drinks if you're in-ter-est-ed," He drawled sexily, lifting his eyebrows with a mischievious grin. It froze. It wasn't until she took her cold stare off him that he felt oxygen flowing back into his body. Wow. Talk about Ice Maiden. Sarah leaned in, and her breath tickled his cheek. "David back there thought the same thing, and I'm sure a fiiinnne lookin' lad like yourself wouldn't be in-ter-est-ed," she mimicked his drawl, "in going through the same education he got." The young man stared. 'Aha!' he thought. 'Australian accent.' He started to grin. All right. She could give as good as she got. "Danny." He held out his hand. She turned away. Second time that day. "Sorry Danny, not in the mood." He nodded to her departing back knowingly. He knew the game. The girl would pretend to ignore him and play hard to get, but with a small bit of persuasion, they always ended up coming back to the bar with him. And this time it was seriously worth it. This chick was damn fine, even though she had been eyeing him like dog meat. "Hey please, wait up." He called after her. She had been walking faster away from him than she was supposed to. He frowned. Maybe this Aussie didn't do it the same way most lasses did. Muttering a few choice swear words, he jogged to catch up to her again. "Hey, it's dangerous to be out wandering the streets at night. You could get hurt or something." He was pretty pleased with the macho way he sounded. She gave him an amused, dismissive glance. "I can take care of myself." He nodded, remembering the way she had landed David back there. "Ok well, at least come back to the club and I'll order a taxi for you. There's no way you can stand out here in the cold waiting for one." She finally turned to him. Her look was cool. "And you expect me to believe you'll really order a taxi for me if I went back with you?" Her voice was covered with biting sarcasm. "Heck yeh. I'm the owner of the club, so I gotta be on my best behaviour." His cheeky grin was infectious. In spite of herself, Sarah smiled back. He just stared. Forget about being hot when she was in killer-ice-girl mode. When she smiled like that, she was stunning. Beyond stunning. Danny's mouth dropped open and a cold sweat broke out. He wrenched his face away from her. Thank God she hadn't seen him.

hehe one word kim: thanks! haha actually that's a lie...I will post the next bit up....
Sarah hesitated. 'May as well go back, didn't come all the way here for nothing,' she thought. So she let Danny lead her back to the club and past the bouncers, who grinned at the sight of them. "Nice catch boss." Sarah started slightly at that. "You really own this place? It wasn't just some lame pick up line you used?" Danny smiled. He had such an enthusiastic boyish charm, Sarah had to resolve herself to be careful around him. "Heck yeh! I only opened it up a couple of months ago." He waved his arm carelessly around the beautiful bar. "It's not much, but it'll do for now." He saw Sarah roll her eyes. Ok, so he may have been boasting just a little, but most of the girls normally lapped it up. This one was different, a mystery. A challenge. He offered her a drink, curious to see what she would want. "Coke please." She was busy examining the club and bar area. It was contemporary hip hop, very retrospective interior. Funky, and very blue. Parts of the club illuminated, but the whole atmosphere was comfortable and almost like a cafe. Danny looked at her uncertainly, not sure if she really wanted a coke. "I meant it when I said the drinks are on the house for you." He had his head cocked to a side. She looked up and smiled again. His insides almost melted as his eyes caught her amused lingering look. "I'm 17." Oh. 'She's not that young,' the 23 year old lad thought. 'Oh else I'm just in denial.' He gave her a coke and got into some small talk. Sarah wasn't too keen talking about her background; she basically mentioned coming from Australia and trying to get away from an ex. "So...uh, looking for any new relationships?" He wished he didn't sound so hopeful. She smirked cheekily at him, but didn't say anything. Woah. His heart skipped a beat and then began pumping super fast. They chatted until 10:00 pm, and Danny managed to weasel some information out of her. He had been brought up in Australia, so they had some common knowledge. Sarah felt comfortable with him, if he would only stop looking at her...like that...Danny noticed her grimaces every time he was caught eyeing her. 'Not my fault.' He thought. 'And everyone else is looking at her too.' This was true. Almost every male in the club was busy staring at the new girl. But Danny tried to refrain from it anyway. Their conversation was beginning to pick up pace, as Sarah asked more about the Blue Bar. Danny hastily explained that the reason why there were less people at the moment was because Busted had their final gig for the season tonight, and most of Britain was watching it. He noticed Sarah stiffen slightly and her face flicker. So he rushed on to fill the silence. "They're really gonna rock tonight. They always do, but last nights are a little crazy. And I heard from James last night that they were freaking about having no guitarist, and their manager Josh came up with a chick to fill in! And James was saying they'd rather have no guitarist than a girl. I mean seriously, they don't need another guitarist, and they definitely don't want a girl!" Sarah's insides flopped. So it wasn't Josh. James. She gritted her teeth together. What pissed her off was that he had always been her favourite out of the three; and it turned out that he was the sexist idiot that- "Are you ok? You don't like Busted I take it?" Danny looked concerned. Sarah shook her head. "No, I used to, quite recently, but not anymore." Her face darkened. Such an idiot. 'Why did I bother trying out for the stupid auditions just so they could laugh at me?' she thought bitterly. Danny watched her closely, anxiety twitching his face. She seemed to really hate Busted. 'Oh great,' he grimaced mentally. 'They'll probably be coming tonight after their show...' He glanced over at the area the boys normally occupied. Sarah probably wouldn't see them come in. She had her back to them if they sat in their usual place.

hehe NEVERRR!!! Just came out of another stupid exam...ah well I'll post a bit up...
"Hey, we headin' off to Danny's now JB?" Charlie called to James. The blonde was busy putting on a new shirt and jacket. His clothes had been quite tattered when the crowd had finally let him get back onto the stage. "Yeh, as always. It's a bugger it's gotten so bloody famous though. Now people will know we go there all the time." Josh wandered into the change room. The three lads hesitated. Josh had still been pretty peeved with them for not considering the new guitarist he had wanted. But it was a girl after all. "I think we pretty much...SLAUGHTERED tonight!" Mattie yelled triumphantly at Josh after a moment’s silence. While the other two cheered, the Irish lad just shrugged. "You're going to have to find a guitarist soon anyway. During this break. Just came in here to say take care on your holiday and don't get pissed too much. I'll see you in a month." Then he left. The band stared at each other incredulously. "In a month?!" James repeated. "He's not serious right? He's meant to come out and celebrate with us and help us keep it together these holidays! Jaysus, he must be pretty stropped at us." The three lads looked at each other aghast.
They walked into Blue Bar half an hour later. Danny saw them straight away, and spoke briefly to Sarah who nodded without turning around. She didn't notice the band members checking her out. "Ouch, who's the hottie Danny's picked up?" "Jaysus, that is one seriously fit girl! Do you reckon he's in the mood to share?" "Would you share a chick like that with anyone?!" James was the only one who didn't notice. He was busy worrying about Josh's behaviour. The Irish boy normally accompanied them everywhere to make sure they didn't do anything stupid. He would nag at them and cover their behinds. It felt odd without him. "Boys, how's it going? How was the concert?" Danny seemed keen to steer them to their normal spot in the corner of the club. "Awesome. Who's the babe?" Charlie cast his eye back at Sarah's back. Danny grinned conspiratorially. "She h8tes your guts!" "What?!" "I mentioned you guys, and you should've seen her face! She's got some serious issues against Busted." Mattie and Charlie instantly scowled at Sarah's back. "Well, I don't like her then," Charlie announced, obviously miffed by this piece of news. He was soon preoccupied though, as both he and Mattie spotted a pair of girls glancing casually over to them. "Later JB," Mattie called as he and Charlie began to move in on the girls. James rolled his eyes with a sigh. Danny plonked himself down next to him. "Whatta up JB?" James' brow was furrowed and his lips twisted slightly. He sighed again. "Ah nothing. The casanova is still peeved-o with us about not giving his pet girl guitarist a go, and now I kinda feel bad about it." Danny nodded and passed him a beer. James' eyes passed over the club briefly until he spotted a girl at the bar. She had her back to him, but he couldn't stop staring. Wavy brown hair with highlights cascaded down her back. She was pretty small, especially compared to James' 5 ft 11 frame. Maybe 5 ft 6. Her jeans covered slim legs and her tank top made James feel like going over and offering his jacket to her. It got pretty chilly these days, he noted with an absent smile. And she'd probably need it in the morning. Danny watched his face closely. "She's bloody gorgeous isn't she?" James snapped back around to his friend. "Oh...yeh." "You didn't seem to appreciate her as much as we all did when you first came in." "Oh...Was that the girl you were talking about? I wasn't really listening." Danny nodded. "Uh...Is she with you?" James hesitated slightly, but he had to know. Any girl that had been staked out by a mate was definitely out of bounds in his books. Danny shook his head regretfully. "Wish I could say she was mateage. She seems to be the 'let's-just-be-bloody-friends' types. You could have a go if you like, but be warned- she can be a feisty cat at the snap of the fingers." "Her? Pft, get out of here. She looks like a bloody angel." "You should have seen what she did to David from Genesis. She caught him with a left upper cut, out of the blue and BAM! He was down! And she's not even a left hander." James turned to Danny grimly. "What was David doing to her?" His voice was frosty. Danny hesitated. James and David had gone to the same highschool and were sworn enemies. Apparently something happened between the two of them and a lass, but Danny wasn't sure of the details. Plus, the whole of Busted hated David in particular, because he was notorious for getting away with abusing people, particularly girls. James' blue eyes were cold and his voice was incredibly quiet and slow. That was a danger sign. "What did he do to her." "Nothing, just thought it would be cute to grab her. The bouncers hauled him out of there before she could kick his buttocks any more." "He still here?" Danny eyed his friend warily. "Yeh, on the dance floor. Don't worry, I don't think he'll come near her again. He was pretty pissed off with her last time." James gritted his teeth and his jaw clenched. "All the more reason for him to try again. Maybe we should go warn her or something..." Uneasiness flickered over his face. He was remembering what happened three years ago, and it hurt like hell. Danny shook his head and got up. "She doesn't need a warning, and if you do try, don't say I didn't warn you." He headed back over to Sarah. She looked up and smiled at him. Danny almost collapsed.

ohhh Just for you Kim! and I guess cos I finished two more exams I'm feeling generous. mwahaha it'll come at a cost ...this bits massively long I think....sorry bout that.... Over at his spot, James watched the pair at the bar. He couldn't really see Sarah's face, but he had noticed how many lads had tried to hit on her, unsuccessfully. He thought uneasily back at Josh's angry departure and decided that he'd probably head home and figure out what they were going to do about finding a new guitarist. James got up and headed towards the dance floor area of the club. He kept an eye out for David, just in case. Mattie and Charlie were dancing with a group of girls in the middle of the floor. James rolled his eyes. Typical. He managed to grab both the lads and haul them back to their table. "What?" Mattie snapped, looking back at the girls. "Some of them are seriously fit mateage, you should come over yourself and take a look." Charlie nodded in agreement. "I reckon we should call it a night and head home." The other two stared at James as though he was insane. "It's only 11:45!" Charlie reached over and felt James' head. "Are you feeling ok?" "I'm not leaving those gals," Matt said firmly. "Fine, bring them back with you, I don't care," James sniped. "Remember, the Casanova isn't around to tell us off. I just think we should go back. I'm sick of this." His jaw was clenching in and out. The other two exchanged a look and began to walk back to the dance floor. "Ok, give us a minute and we'll go," Mattie called out to his bandmate. Sarah didn't really want to leave. It was pretty late, but she was enjoying Danny's company. The laid back lad had given up trying to flirt with her, and they were beginning to get friendly instead. "I've gotta go. It's way past my bed time," Sarah smiled apologetically at Danny. His eyes widened. "Hey, it's only 11:50! The party's only starting!" At that moment, a cocky blonde came up and oggled at Sarah. Danny gave him a back-off look and he took the hint. Sarah shook her head. "I've kind of had enough of that for one night. I'll probably swing around this week though and we can talk again." Danny looked hopeful. "Tomorrow night?" Sarah cast an uneasy glance at him. "Just as friends of course," he added hastily. She nodded. "Ok, I'll see you tomorrow." Sarah grabbed her bag and began walking out. "Hey, you need a cab?" Danny called after her. "Nah, I'm ok." She walked outside into the alley. The queue for the bar had, incredibly, lengthened from before. It snaked all the way down the street, and Sarah noticed how the people had dressed up for it. 'Oh well,' she thought as she glanced down at her jeans and top. It wasn't even what she was comfortable with, but Sarah had enough sense not to simply rock up in her tracksuit. She began to pick her way across the road, passing several dark alleys. Although the streetlights provided some light, she was aware that she probably should have called a cab from the bar. With a frown, she turned left into a dim street. Dammit, I'm lost. The club was only a block away, so she could go back there. As Sarah began to turn, she noticed someone behind her. Two someones to be exact. With a twinge of fear, she balled her fists, and lifted her feet slightly. The two men stood in front of her, blocking the way she had come. She peered closer, and with a sick sensation recognised the strangers as two bandmates in Genesis. David was no where to be seen. 'What, he sends his mates to come and attack me?' She wondered. She figured she may as well try and walk past them. Not a smart move. One of them grabbed her arm, hard. Not a smart move either. Sarah spun and threw a punch straight at the guy's stomach, with most of her strength. He went down, but the guy behind her hauled her around the waist and slammed her into a wall. Slightly dazed, she brought her fists up and caught a sharp blow aimed at her head. Sarah backed up in shock. These guys really wanted to hurt her. She gritted her teeth together. Fine, they could play it their way. Sarah feigned an upper cut at the one on the left, but followed it up with a hard right blow to his jaw. He staggered, and she pirouetted, spinning around to kick the other man in the ribs. Go for the weak spots, she reminded herself. Problem was, it was too dark, and going up against too almost fully grown lads wasn't easy when she couldn't see. Sarah followed up her blows with lightning punches at their throats and body. Sarah couldn't really reach their faces, but she was feeling pretty damn confident despite the flow of blood trickling down her face. 'Finally, all this working out and being with George has paid off,' she thought with a satisfied smile. Then the two guys suddenly renewed their attacks, forcing her further down the street. That was probably why she didn't notice a shadow behind her. Didn't take in fast enough that someone had grabbed her and clamped a handkerchief around her mouth and nose. Sarah smelt Dendrolene and panicked. She could feel her mind shutting down, and although she threw punches that connected with body parts, she knew she was losing. A cold voice whispered sneeringly to her. "Did you really think you would get away from me?" She felt a hand reaching to unbutton her jeans and she almost screamed in anger. But she couldn't move, couldn't scream. With the last bit of willpower she had, she kicked the man hard, where it would hurt the most. Then someone slammed her into the wall and the darkness enveloped her.

James almost swore at the other two when they finally emerged from the dance floor with three girls. Although it had only been ten minutes, it felt like forever. He just wanted to get home and ring Josh, apologising about their unnecessary reaction to his idea of a female guitarist. Charlie and Matt noticed their bandmate's temper, and gave a quick introduction to the girls while they were walking out of the Blue Bar. Then they returned to snogging their own partners, leaving the remaining girl to try and talk to James. She was a pretty, tall blonde- the type James normally liked. But tonight he just wasn't in the mood for anything. Which was why, despite her efforts, the girl couldn't seem to attract his attention. He kept glancing down the alleyways they passed, as they walked towards their parking spot. That's when he heard the noises and stopped walking. "James?" The girl turned to him concerned. He listened carefully. The sound of grunting and fists hitting flesh came from the left street. Mattie and Charlie only then noticed that James had stopped, and they turned back around, looking puzzled. James paused for a second to pinpoint the exact location of the noises, and then he sprinted down the left road. Mattie and Charlie exchanged confused glances, and disengaged themselves from their partners, running after him. Even though he was still far away, James saw her throw a punch at the one in front of her. He recoiled with a yell, and grabbed her legs, while the guy next to her hit her hard in the ribs. They were in the shadows, but he could make out another one, holding her down at the head. Anger surged through him as memories flooded back. He grimaced and tried to run faster to them. When he got a bit closer, he recognised the back of the one bending over the girl. Rage caught hold of him then. 'HE'S DOING IT AGAIN!' James' mind screamed in fury. The man's hands were running over the girl's body. She kicked him hard and the one holding her down slammed her into the wall. She fell limp, and the first guy reached for her again. David. By this time, Matt and Charlie had realised what was happening and were also doubling their efforts to catch up to James. The three men heard the almost inhuman roar come from down the street, but they didn't see James hurtle out of the darkness and almost lift David off his feet, throwing punch after punch at him. Mattie and Charlie jumped at the other two guys, who were trying to haul the enraged James off their bandmate. 'Perfect,' Mattie thought as he recognised the guy who he had just punched in the nose. 'Let's just get into a fight with Genesis and have it all over the bloody tabloids. The Casanova will kill us.' That's when he noticed Charlie trying to pull James off David. James' fists were covered in blood and David was staggering, barely able to stand. For a moment, concern crossed Mattie's face. If James hurt David... Much as he hated the Genesis leadsinger, Mattie helped Charlie grab James, while the Genesis member's hauled David down the road. James was struggling for all it was worth, and beginning to land some punches on his own friends. "Stop it! Dammit!" Charlie yelled at the wild James. Swear words flew through the street, until Charlie half threw James into a wall. "Uh guys?" Mattie had left his enraged friend to Charlie, and was bent beside the still form of the girl. Charlie looked at James, worried. He'd never seen him so crazy. James shot him a furious look and walked over to the girl, crouching down beside her. She had a rag tied around her face and her chest was barely moving. Mattie yanked off the rag while James examined her. Her jeans were unbuttoned and her clothes were ripped. He turned away, almost embarrassed. Charlie was calling an ambulance on his cell phone. The three girls that had been with them wandered down the street looking vaguely concerned. "Is she alive?" "Is she ok?" "Who is she?" James almost snarled at them but instead, he turned back to the girl. And then he stared. It was the girl Danny had been with all night. A stream of blood was flowing freely down her face, and a bruise was forming on her cheek already. James picked her up, and carefully cradled her in his arms, remembering the fight she had put up. Looking at the rag, he realised she had been drugged. Amazement hit him. She had been fighting like a tiger, even though she was almost unconscious. He wiped away the blood gently with his sleeve, and she made a soft whimper. 'She looks so young,' he thought in despair, grinding his teeth together helplessly. Charlie's voice pierced the fogginess in his head. "The ambulance will be here in 5." James barely nodded, noticing the goose bumps on the girl's arms. He swung his jacket off and wrapped it around her, pulling her close. All the while, his mind was replaying a similar scene 3 years back.
